Allan Saint-Maximin scored his first goal for Charlotte FC in a 2-1 win over D.C. United on Saturday night.

Charlotte said it was Saint-Maximin’s first goal for the club since joining as a Designated Player from RC Lens in France’s Ligue 1. He previously played for Newcastle United in the English Premier League.

While Saturday brought his first goal for Charlotte, Saint-Maximin has also recorded five assists in eight league matches.

The victory moved Charlotte into fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 43 points. The club had gone 5W-0L-3D over its previous eight matches entering the weekend.

That position would secure home-field advantage in Round One of the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs. Charlotte also pointed to the growing connections between Saint-Maximin and teammates Pep Biel and Idan Toklomati as it heads into the stretch run.
