Dino Beganovic claimed his second win of the 2026 FIA Formula 2 season by taking the Baku Sprint Race for DAMS Lucas Oil. The Swede started third, moved into second by the first corner and passed Laurens van Hoepen on the opening lap.

He then pressured championship leader Nikola Tsolov and used DRS to clear the Bulgarian for the lead. Once in front, Beganovic pulled away to break the DRS threat behind him and converted a late Safety Car restart on the final lap into a second consecutive Sprint Race victory.

Van Hoepen finished second, while Alexander Dunne completed the podium in third after charging from 10th on the grid. Dunne, who has a 35-point gap to make up, will start Friday’s Feature Race from pole position and Saturday’s from second on the grid.

The order changed late after Tsolov made an error at Turn 16 and slipped down the field to fifth for Campos Racing. Rafael Camara, second in the drivers’ standings, made contact with PREMA Racing’s Mari Boya on the opening lap, received a 10-second time penalty and finished outside the points. Gabriele Mini also failed to score and remains third in the drivers’ standings heading into Feature Race 1 in Baku.
