Mike Malott brings a four-fight winning streak into his meeting with Joaquin Buckley at Rogers Place. His previous main event ended with a third-round stoppage of Gilbert Burns in April. Buckley arrives after two defeats, following six straight wins to begin his UFC welterweight run.
The contrast makes this a useful test for both men: Malott has momentum, while Buckley needs to recover the form that carried him into the division’s top ten. UFC’s preview identifies wrestling control as a problem in Buckley’s recent defeats. For viewers, where the exchanges take place is one of the clearest things to watch—whether Buckley can keep space to strike or Malott can make him work in close.
Erin Blanchfield faces Jasmine Jasudavicius in the co-main event. Both won on the previous Edmonton card. Blanchfield enters with an 8–1 UFC record; Jasudavicius comes off an April decision over Karine Silva. Their bout gives the Canadian audience another consequential matchup near the top of a division.
Pre-fight context, based on UFC’s official matchup preview. Confirmed outcomes appear in the fight card below as the results feed supplies them.
The main card is scheduled for 5 p.m. Pacific on Saturday, October 17—6 p.m. in Edmonton and 8 p.m. Eastern. That is the start of the main card, not a promised Buckley–Malott walkout time.
UFC’s October 16 viewing notice lists Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada, with early prelims on UFC Fight Pass from 2 p.m. Pacific and the prelim segment from 3 p.m. Pacific. Check your provider’s event listing for the channel and subscription required. In the United States, UFC lists Paramount+.
The main event is scheduled for five rounds; the other bouts are scheduled for three. Both headliners weighed in at 170.5 pounds.
